Description

Located in Hong Kong, BASF’s regional headquarters oversees more than 16,000 employees at about 100 sites across Asia Pacific. In addition to regional business units, Hong Kong office also houses regional functional units including Corporate Affairs, Finance and Controlling, Human Resources, Management Consulting, Procurement and Supply Chain Services. Objectives of the Position

  • Reporting to President of Dispersions & Pigments (i.e. the Division), the incumbent will support the President and the Executive Management Team to effectively steer and carry out the Global Communications both internally and externally, according to the guidelines of Corporate Communications and business strategies of Dispersions & Pigments, and by leading and collaborating closely with the members of the Communications community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Derive key communications objectives and strategies from the Division’s business objectives and strategies in consultation with internal stakeholders
  • Generate stories of the Division, build Division specific messages and ensure they are delivered and implemented across regions
  • Build the overall reputation of the Division towards journalists and position it through key global media
  • Coordinate market and customers related communications activities across regions
  • Provide professional guidance on communications topics to the President and management team
  • Develop and manage brand communications for the Division
  • Develop, steer and implement global communications projects such as organizational changes, acquisition etc.
  • Lead specific employee communications initiatives and support the management team in driving and cascading strategy and action through the organization
  • Manage and maintain ownership of global communications platforms such as internet, intranet, town hall meetings etc.
  • Develop and maintain crisis communications plans for the Division and coordinate necessary drills and trainings
  • Lead, coordinate and develop the global the Division’s Communications community
  • Represent the Division within BASF Communications Community and support related topics

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Journalism, Marketing or Mass Communications
  • At least 10 years working experience in marketing, marketing communications, or public relations in international and multicultural environment
  • Strong competency in influencing and impacting others
  • Excellent conceptual and entrepreneurial abilities (such as planning, analytical, creative, goal-oriented)
  • Solid understanding of marketing and business strategies and ability to translate those into marketing communications plans
  • Good knowledge of digital tools in social media and enterprise social networks
  • Good intercultural understanding, international management and negotiation skills
  • High commitment and willingness to work hands-on
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Excellent English language in both speaking and writing
  • Good at presentations, event moderation and public speaking
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and other basic programs such as Photoshop, Webmaster etc.

Requirements
